Is it possible to see muscular growth by only doing isometric contractions alone?
Answer:
Yes. If you hold your arms outstretched and put 10 kg in each hand. that will do it. If you lie on your back and hold your feet an inch off the ground that will do it. If you lie on your tummy and then bridge from your feet to your elbows.. that will also do it.
Sometime yes it can grow muscles so they get bigger but you need to concentatre a lot and only think about it in specific location like mind over ,matter and things of this nature.

Muscle mass help!!?
PLEASE READ THIS!! i know all the basics like more protein and more carbs and everything but my real question is about the EXERCISE. is it better to do max weights,12 reps, one set, OR again max weighst lower reps(5 or so) and 3 or 4 sets. which is better and why?
Answer:
You're right, you want max weight. You want to push yourself. With weight and reps. Try not to focus on an exact number. Rather, go until you can't possible go anymore. ...and then do one more.
You want to push your muscles. When you weight lift, your muscles are tearing (or ripping) on a microscopic level. The day after you weight train, your muscles are going around repairing themselves and building bigger, stronger muscles on top of those microscopic rips.
By doing more reps and pushing yourself further, in a sense, you're creating more of those tiny tears, therefore creating more muscle mass.
If you can do more than a dozen reps, then you don't have enough weight on.
If you lift every other day, you'll get better results because you're letting those muscles repair themselves in between workouts.
Also, make sure you're keeping up on your cardio. Keeping that fat down will help your muscles show through more and you'll have a more "cut" look instead of the soft teddy bear look.

Focus on slow, controlled movement - don't cheat yourself by using momentum!

Hang from a bar with your legs straight down. Raise your legs by flexing your hips while flexing your knees until your hips are fully flexed. You can place weight between your ankles for added resistance. You can also raise your knees to one side of your body to work the obliques.

I'm completly anti recreational drugs, but the fact of the matter is over a year it's a difference of 4 -5 stone with steriods or less that 1 stone training naturally. Also, it's practically impossible to reduce your bodyfat to a level that really shows definition without steriods.
NEVER EVER USE STEROIDS!!!!!!!!... I do that with as many explanation marks as possible, because they are bad for you in so many different ways, for a start they are a drug. I have heard that protein shakes are good for building muscle as long as you work it off, so try those and plenty of exercise. It can cause the following problems (using steroids):

Carbohydrates are your main energy source, so eat a carb-packed meal about an hour or so before you work out, too. Also keep in mind the importance of water.
Frankly, you're a bit young to try and get really big, but you can certainly train for shape and definition. Do some free weight exercises, 12 to 15 reps minimum. At your age you should do compound exercises rather than the isolation ones.
